I Like Big Buns and I Cannot Lie!
Wednesday, August 24, 2011

No otha’ bruthas’ can deny… and so on… What is about sweet things like big dirty chocolate cakes, drippy sticky toffee pudding, and oozing eclairs that always seem to grab people’s attention?  I could write fresh and healthy recipes everyday for the rest of my life, and they would still never get the same reaction as the oooohing and aaaahing that a great big, filthy slice of gooey, dark chocolate brownie manages to draw. Some of the first recipes I ever cooke, were baking ones, and to this day it’s one of my favourite forms of cooking in the kitchen.  I have cooked Swedish cinnamon buns to their death at this stage, but they have to be one of the best baking discoveries I’ve come across in the last 5 years.

I’ve had to start adapting them a little bit to keep people’s attention and when I was in Sweden this summer this verion got approval from the Swedes themselves, so you just know they’re going to be good!  If you haven’t made these before, it’s basically a sweet bread dough which you roll out flat and spread with sweet butter and a filling of your choice, traditionally cinnamon, but in this case some roughly chopped dark chocolate.  I haven’t convinced you to make the cinnamon variety, hopefully this chocolatey version will do the trick!  Let me know how you get on! :)

Continue to the recipe for the Dark Chocolate Swirl Buns…

Haha, I love that song! My friend and I always end up singing it in the car, complete with actions. Her husband is appalled.
Lovely buns too. Definitely on my list!

Haha well this title sure got my attention. I love the idea of baking these in individual cups as well. And the dark chocolate sounds scrumptious.
